Fall Co-op Student Position 2021

Job Description


SWEB Development Inc. (SWEB) is hiring a fall co-op student to support its wind and solar energy development efforts for the fall 2021 term. The successful candidate will work as part of the project development team to support work on wind and solar energy projects in Canada and the United States.

This position will be paid on an hourly basis, with an expectation that a minimum of 35 hours be worked in a standard week. The rate of hourly compensation will be negotiated based upon experience level. The term of this position will be between September and December 2021.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support Project Developers, Development Managers and other staff in regular project development tasks.
  • Manage and organize key documents for wind and solar energy project development.
  • Support and/or create various request for proposal responses, stakeholder engagement materials, and procurement documents.
  • Manage minutes and document organization for various project development meetings.
  • Support maintainance various financial models and project schedules.
  • Support in coordination with electrical utilities, contractors, regulatory authorities, etc. as part of project development.
  • Support with coordination of public meetings and engagement with community groups.
  • Support and lead other tasks as needed with future projects.


Skills and Qualifications

  • Strong proficiency in research and technical writing.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Technical proficiency in renewable energy technologies.
  • Data management and document organization (digital/physical).
  • Ability to learn skills in new software and web services as needed.
  • Understanding of energy policy is an asset.
  • Understanding of project financial modelling and budgeting is an asset
