Environmental Assessment
Environmental Assessment Given the proposed project has a project capacity that is greater than 2 MW, it is subject to an environmental assessment under the Nova Scotia Environmental Assessment Regulations. As such, SWEB Energy is currently conducting desktop and field studies as part of the environmental assessment process with specific attention paid to the following environmental attributes and studies:

- Surface Hydrology
- Wildlife including Birds and Bats
- Visual Aesthetics

On April 2, 2026, the Sugar Maple Wind Energy Project Environmental Assessment was officially registered. All documentation related to the environmental assessment and information regarding the provision of public comments can be found here.
