Mid-June Cold Snap and Record-Breaking Heat Wave – Monthly Production Below Plan
Total production for the month amounted to 94,711 MWh, falling short of the planned target.
The weather last month showed two very different sides. During the first half of the month, a mid-June cold snap brought highly changeable conditions and cool nights, noticeably lowering temperatures. In contrast, the second half of the month saw an unprecedented June heat wave.
The persistent high-pressure systems that contributed to the heat wave also resulted in very low wind levels across most regions. As a result, production targets were not met in Austria, Germany, Czechia, France, Canada, and the United States. Air masses were more dynamic in France, where production fortunately exceeded the planned target.
In the solar segment, Austria, Czechia, Germany, Italy, and the United States finished above plan. Slovakia was the only country to experience somewhat cloudier weather, resulting in production below target.
